亀裂を特徴とする独自の陶表現によって、造形―空間―知覚の間に生じる関係への存在論的アプローチを追究している

1986年    「八木一夫賞現代陶芸展」優秀賞受賞

1992年    京都市芸術新人賞受賞
2005年    京都市立芸術大学美術学部教授就任（～2018年）
2007年    京都府文化賞功労賞受賞、円空大賞受賞
2008年    京都美術文化賞受賞
2010年    MOA岡田茂吉賞工芸部門大賞受賞
